CUSTOMS REGULATIONS
HOUSEHOLD GOODS AND PERSONAL EFFECTS

Shipper must be in Malaysia at time of clearance as original passport is required. Items less than 6 months old are dutiable. All shipments are subject 100% inspection by Customs.

Diplomats are required to obtain duty free certificate from Ministry of Foreign Affairs in advance of shipment arrival.

All video tapes/vcds/dvds are subject to censorship. Charges range from US$1-US$5 per piece.

All electronic items must be listed separately stating Brand, Model, serial number, country of purchase and value.
PROHIBITED AND RESTRICTED GOODS

Goods prohibited from entering Malaysia include firearms, ammunition, pornographic material, and short wave radios.
MOTOR VEHICLES (AUTOS AND MOTORBIKES)

Most pets, including dogs, cats, and birds, can be brought into Malaysia but will be subject to one month quarantine. The documents necessary at the time of import are a current health certificate (not more than 7 days old) and a current vaccination card.
